May 3, 2018 Calvary Happenings

What a blessed day!

God has thoroughly blessed us with a beautiful day.  When I think about the beauty of God's creation, I cannot help but stop and give Him praise for all that He does.  We all have something to praise God for daily.  It is my prayer that each one of us gives Him the praise He deserves.

Speaking of praise, I am excited about what God is doing in and through our church.  This past week our leadership team met to discuss upcoming goals and plans.  Over the next few weeks we we will sharing details from our meeting as we implement the plans we discussed.

We have several things going on this month.  There is Senior Adult Sunday this week, Mother's Day the 2nd Sunday, and on the 3rd Sunday we will recognize our graduates.  As we have these celebrations over the next few weeks, let's take time and let each group know how thankful we are of each one of them.

It is my prayer that God will continue to bless you and give you opportunities to be a Disciple-Maker.  Pray for God to send someone your way whom you can disciple this summer.  I will be sharing more information about this strategy very soon.  As disciples/followers of Christ, we should be working to make more disciples/followers of Christ.

Hope you all have a great week and I look forward to seeing you this weekend at Calvary.

Looking forward to a great time of fellowship this Saturday as we take a group from our Senior Adult Ministry to the Rattlesnake Saloon in Northwest Alabama.  We still have a few seats left on the bus.  If you would like to go, please contact Bro. Anthony.

We will leave the church at 8:00 a.m. on
Saturday, May 5, 2018

This Sunday we will be looking at "A Family United".  Church family is very important and I have often stated, "I do not understand how people survive without Christ or a church family".

There are several characteristics of a Church Family found in God's Word.  Over the next few weeks we will be dealing with them.  This week we will deal with the subject of us all being United in Christ.  I hope you will join us for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship at 10:30 a.m.

As the old Gaither song states; "I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God."  It is my prayer that you all will sing this song with us this Sunday.

We are excited that our Wednesday Night Suppers are being served on a regular basis.  We are now offering them every other Wednesday night with serving beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Our next mean will be on May 16th.

This Sunday we will be taking a survey of potential menus that will be served.  Hope you will plan on joining us for this great time of fellowship.
On Sunday, May 20th, we will recognize our High School and Kindergarten Graduates.  There will be a recognition in our morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. and that evening we will have a fellowship in their honor.

Please join us on this special day as we honor our graduates and celebrate their accomplishments.
