Good Afternoon Everyone,
I hope that you all are enjoying this beautiful afternoon that God has blessed us with. As I like to say from time to time, there are people who want to claim there is not a God. However, if we will open our eyes and see the beauty around us, we will clearly see God's presence all around. The Bible teaches us; "For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse" (Romans 1:20, HCSB). It is my prayer that we are all seeing God and feeling His presence everywhere we look and everywhere we go.
Speaking of God's presence, God is at work in our church. Mrs. Katie shared with me that there were 34 children here last night which included 5 new children. God is an awesome God and I am so thankful for the work that He is doing in our church. Over the past couple of months, we have had NINE people join our church family. Two of those nine have been recently saved. Folks, those are the things to get excited about. It is my prayer that we will continue to see God working in and through our church.
I am also excited that we have an active choir, praise team, and instrumental ensemble again. This really works to enhance our worship experience. If you are not a part of one of these great ministries, I would like to encourage you to join in. The choir rehearses on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. and the instrumental ensemble rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. There will always be a spot available for those who want to praise the Lord through these ministries.
I would like to encourage you all to be here this Sunday morning for Sunday School. We have several great classes and there is a place for everyone. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. Then make sure you join us for Worship at 10:30 a.m. This week we will hear from Bro. Luke about his trip to Ecuador and from Holly Walker about her recent trip to New York. As I have made clear, missions should be a very important part of our church. "BRING THEM IN, BUILD THEM UP, AND SEND THEM OUT" is the strategy I introduced last month and it is my prayer that we will continue to bring people to Jesus, help them grow in the Word of God, and send them out to make more disciples.
Finally, this Sunday night at 5:00 p.m. will be our quarterly business meeting. We have several items to discuss and while some might consider a business meeting a waste of time, it is in these meetings that we discuss the ministries of our church, the financial situation of our church, as well as upcoming opportunities to minister and serve. There will be no Youth, Children, or Ladies study this week.
Hope you all have a great rest of the week and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
